Sign up by Sept. 14 to have your child vaccinated at school
9/6/2022
Having your kids vaccinated at school is convenient and easy, and it protects them from the flu. It also protects your family and keeps the school and community healthy throughout the year. You still have time to sign up so your child can be vaccinated for flu in school.
Online sign-up is quick and easy. You can sign up through Sept. 14 at 11 p.m. This deadline also applies to paper sign-up forms turned in at school offices. No late sign-ups will be accepted.
The School-Located Immunization Program provides flu vaccinations to students in kindergarten through 12th grade in Olmsted and some Mower County public and private schools, as well as Kasson-Mantorville Schools and Pine Island Independent School District 255.
Mayo Clinic, Olmsted Medical Center and Olmsted County Public Health Services support the program. Also partnering with the program are Dodge County Public Health, Goodhue County Public Health Division, Olmsted and Mower County public and private schools, Kasson-Mantorville Schools and Pine Island Independent School District 255.
Flu vaccinations will be offered in the schools as an injection, or nose spray, as available. Nondrug, pain-reducing options will be offered. Teachers will have a short video for their elementary classrooms to ease student concerns.
